The short version
We got tired of 500MB Electron apps for testing an API endpoint. We got tired of security scanners that cost $200/month and still can't generate a fix. We got tired of database GUIs that take longer to load than the query takes to run.
So we built mpx-scan, mpx-api, mpx-db, and mpx-secrets-audit. Four CLI tools that do one thing each, do it well, and don't waste your time.
AI-native. Not AI-adjacent.
Here's the thing about 2026: your AI assistant is going to use CLI tools more than you do. When you tell Claude "check if my site has security headers" — something needs to actually run the scan.
Every Mesaplex tool is an MCPMCP (Model Context Protocol) — the standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and GPT discover and use CLI tools directly. server. AI agents can discover it, call it, and parse the results — all without you writing a single line of integration code. We're not retrofitting AI onto existing tools. We built for this from day one.
What we believe
- CLI-first. If it doesn't work well in the terminal, it doesn't ship. GUIs are optional. The command line is not.
- Free means free. Not "free trial." Not "free but crippled." The free tier solves real problems for real developers.
- No accounts, no tracking, no BS. Install and use. That's the entire onboarding flow. Your data stays on your machine.
- Open source, MIT licensed. Read the code. Fork it. Submit PRs. We build in the open because developer tools should be trustworthy. If you don't trust a tool that scans your codebase for secrets, you shouldn't use it.
- Honest pricing. $10/mo for all four tools, unlimited usage. No per-seat gotchas, no usage-based surprises. We'd rather have 1,000 happy users than 100 confused ones.
How we make money (without being evil)
- Pro subscriptions: $10/month or $96/year for unlimited usage and advanced features across all tools
- Team licenses (coming soon): Volume discounts for companies
We will never sell your data, inject ads, track your usage, or use dark patterns. This isn't a loss leader for some other product. The tools are the product.
Who we are
A small, bootstrapped team building tools we use ourselves every day. No VC money. No board to appease. No pressure to ship features nobody asked for. We'd rather build four excellent tools than forty mediocre ones.
Open source — MIT License
Every Mesaplex tool is released under the MIT License. Use it commercially, modify it, distribute it. The Pro tier adds features on top of the open source core — it doesn't lock away what's already free.
